One of last year’s brightest electronic discoveries, Tshegue are a duo made up of Nicolas Dacunha and Faty Sy Savanet, a Kinshasa-born singer who moved to the Parisian suburbs when she was nine. Between the two of them, they have consumed several decades’ worth of afropunk. But this is only half the story, for the energy of this dynamic duo transcends genres and generations.

If Tshegue were a racing car cruising at full speed across the desert, its afro musical influences would be safely stored in the boot. Meanwhile, pedal to the metal and tyres screeching the asphalt, the motor would be fuelled by guitars and hooks of a hypnotic, frenetic and mechanical intensity. Fasten your seatbelts: these two are capable of shocking even the most hardened ravers.
