Bård Aasen Lødemel, a.k.a. Skatebård, is an iconic figure from the second generation of Norwegian disco producers, and a natural successor to Bjorn Torse, Biosphere, Mental Overdrive and the other legends who gave birth to the movement in the arctic city of Tromsø in the 1980s. Drawing his inspiration from not just the Norwegian scene but also from international stars such as Moroder and Patrick Cowley, Skatebård’s music pushes the boundaries of disco and infuses it with techno and Italo. The founder of Digitalo Enterprises, the label that has released four of his five albums, Skatebård’s music transports the listener to a glacial midnight drive on an arctic motorway.
