Over the last few years, Sentiments has progressed from being a fixture on Lyon’s underground scene to performing sets on the most prestigious stages in France. Ostensibly a product of the Groovedge stable – a label, promoter and record store beloved to fans of rare nuggets and long-lost beats –, it did not take long for his precise and eclectic music to catch the eyes and ears of the city’s audiophiles, culminating in the ecstatic reception that greeted his debut EP Thank You For The World Vol. 1.
Since 2017, Sentiments has also run his own label, Light on Earth, which has released several of his own tracks. Following a distinguished collaboration with fellow Lyon electro luminary Franck Gérard – on an EP entitled December 15 – he is returning in April 2018 with his second solo release, Purple Days. This latest record sees a subtle shift in his sound towards broken rhythms, house layers and occasional tribal ambiances. Whether sitting at a production desk or confronted by a crazed dancefloor, Sentiments’ music is never less than a sumptuous blend of disco shades, sunny rhythms and jazz flourishes.
