Peggy Gou’s artistic journey would be enough to impress even the most hardened of electro veterans. Having studied in London and started out as a producer on the Rekids label, the Korean’s story offers thrilling proof that artistic fulfilment can be achieved through hard work and passion. Three EPs down the line – including releases on Phonica White and Technicolour – Peggy Gou is now firmly established as one of the finest contemporary exponents of a futuristic, elegant and groovy house sound that was first coined by Dj Sotofett, Dj Koze and Galcher Lustwerk.
Lauded by Resident Advisor, Mixmag and The Guardian; offered a 2017 residence on BBC Radio 1; endorsed by giants such as Moodymann, Radio Slave and The Black Madonna… the career of the Berlin-based artist has well and truly taken flight. And it’s a rise that has shown no signs yet of slowing down.
