Bio
A legend of the Amsterdam nightlife scene, Olaf Boswijk is the man behind Trouw, the much-loved club that definitively closed its doors to the public in early 2015. Far from calling it a day, however, the Dutch DJ and booker soon co-founded De School, an immense psychedelic dancefloor that attracts young ravers from all over Europe each week. A veritable nocturnal institution, supported by the Dekmantel festival and lauded by Rush Hour, De School is the talk of the town for a whole community of electronic music lovers. And, as if that wasn’t enough, Olaf also finds time for his own residency on Radio Balthasar, where he is given the freedom to explore different forms of narration and new musical spaces.
An intrepid and passionate traveller, Olaf conceives each of his DJ sets as a clubbing ‘experience’, built around exotic ambiances and African flavours, yet firmly anchored to the electronic aesthetic of the 1980s. Adventurous and retro, the result is an efficient and sexy fusion of styles.
