Bio

Revered by EBM fans for his work in the nineties as Nitzer Ebb, Douglas McCarthy ended that particular adventure to return to school and study design. He couldn’t stay away for long, however, and was soon back again working on solo projects and in collaboration with contemporary artists such as DJMREX. But if McCarthy were to retire again tomorrow, never to be seen again, he would surely be best remembered for his work alongside Terence Fixmer.

Their first encounter – or their first release as Fixmer/Mccarthy, at least – took place fully fifteen years ago. Fifteen years during which they have progressively fused their contrasting passions and sensibilities: high level techno for the former, born in Lille; and EBM for the latter, born in London. A handful of records and two albums (on Planet Rouge) later, the alchemy between the two shows no signs of fading.
