Marina Rubinstein was born in Russia, raised in Tel Aviv, and now lives in Berlin. Somewhere along the way, halfway through a long night of partying, she had a revelation: that dance is a form of meditation. “For me, it’s the greatest feeling in the world,” she explains. “Something that brings absolute happiness.”
It’s a feeling for which Dr. Rubinstein is constantly striving in her sets, for DJ and audiences alike. A regular at Berghain, De School and Oval Space, she continues to live the only way she knows how: by wandering the world, armed only with a crate of irresistible techno records.
The buzz around Dr. Rubinstein has been steadily building for some time and, following her set at Nuits Sonores, it’s quite possible that she will be nothing short of unstoppable.
