One half of Drexciya, Gerald Donald donned a white blouse and started scientifically and sonically experimenting in Detroit back in 1995. In his Dataphysix Engineering laboratory, Gerald – accompanied by faithful sidekick To Nhan Le Thi – calculated and tinkered, messed with tone and resonance, and played with frequencies and decibels.

The duo presented the results of their experiments under the pseudonym Dopplereffekt, on the albums Linear Accelerator and Calabi Yau Space. They fused electronic music with the techno genre, creating a sound that evoked the spirit of Kraftwerk, for whom they are considered the rightful heirs*.

With a reputation as trendsetters, over the last few years Dopplereffekt have teamed up with Dr. Dida Markovic, Dr. Zaz Magic and antiVJ in order to create a new and unique piece of sonic art. Blending live music, audiovisual performance and scientific data, Entropy was finally unveiled in 2016.
