Bio

Passionate about tropical ambiences, atmospheric percussion and pin-sharp synths, Die Orangen have burst onto the scene with an original style and a rich sound pitched halfway between Brian Eno and Mark Barrott. A fusion of Balearic and ambient, this Malka Tuti act have been an immediate hit with fans of slow music worldwide. The trio, made up of Kris Baha, Dreems and Angelo Cruzman, are behind two of their Israeli label’s finest releases. Their debut EP Oodnadatta Rain is essential listening, above all for its title track: an astonishing eleven-minute transcendent epic, it effortlessly incorporates downtempo, analogue textures and long passages of didgeridoo.

The follow-up album, 2017’s Zest, took the group’s sound in a new direction inspired by krautrock and tribal music. A powerful, phantasmagorical record, it saw the trio step back from club culture to further explore their penchant for storytelling. In one of Night 2’s truly unmissable events, Die Orangen will be performing in Lyon for the very first time at Périscope.
