Currently resident in Berlin, Borusiade is one of the most prominent female DJs to have emerged from the Romanian scene. She was given a classical education that she has neither renounced nor forgotten, and that continues to be an underlying influence at each of her appearances.
At times less techno than they are cold wave or EBM, her recorded releases bluntly unveil a cold and hypnotic music that reflects an overt fascination with the raw and industrial nature of her surroundings. Nonetheless, signed to Cómeme, some of her label’s nonchalance and warmth have still managed to rub off on her. Built upon a collection of dancefloor-friendly bass lines, her current live set – an enchanting cocktail of desires and melodies – is right up there with her most fascinating to date.
