An Italian who has made a name for himself in Spain, Bawrut is one of a new generation of young artists who are as well schooled in the sounds and styles of 80s Chicago house as they are in the latest digital technologies. Accordingly, his music is created at a tantalising cultural crossroads between the classic and the innovatory, the known and the unexplored, the past and the future, the already-accomplished and the still-possible. Determined to keep up with the pace at the forefront of this scene, Bawrut had the honour of becoming the first artist to release a record on the Ransom Note label in 2016. The following year, he packed a bag full of his favourite vinyl and, having crossed the Pyrenees and the Ardeche, embarked on a tour with Lyon-based label Hard Fist, who also released his stunning Drums of Passion EP.
