Enrique Leon is without doubt one of the most important figures on Bogota’s electronic music scene. A resident and promoter at Video Club, he is as adept at selecting the latest beats from North America and Europe as he is at unearthing the finest sounds to emerge closer to home in South America.
His resulting DJ sets oscillate between cosmic disco, bass music, LoFi meanderings (reminiscent of L.I.E.S.), breakbeat, ghetto and acid house, with one constant feature: a heavy, almost gravitational groove. With his cutting edge beats, peerless booth technique, perpetual smile and dancefloor-friendly rhythms, every set delivered by Leeon is an experience unto itself.
