Bio

Hailing from the Amazonian capital of Iquitos, it took 25 years for the five brothers that make up Los Wemblers to venture away from their homeland. Veritable legends in South America, and these days the last Amazonian group to feature all of their original members, Los Wemblers have lost none of their energy and creativity.

These Peruvian cumbia pioneers used to record as many as three albums a year back in the 1970s, seamlessly merging psychedelia with local pop styles such as pendilla, carimbó and chicha. Now, having embarked on an international tour, they are in the process of conquering the world, armed only with cumbia. Viva Peru!
