DJ P has an uncanny ability of turning any dancefloor into a blazing inferno. Those of you lucky enough to have witnessed what happens when this master settles in behind a pair of MK2s will know exactly what we mean. For when this mix artiste starts scratching, effortlessly feeding choice samples into his favourite hip-hop cuts, there really is nothing else for it: it’s time to join the sweaty mass loosely resembling a dancefloor. A die-hard digger, DJ P can call upon 25 years of experience and mixtapes that have seen him fine-tune his extravagant natural gifts. Whether working solo or in collaboration with the Turntableast collective, he has created his own universe: one in which turntablism is king, humbly served by rap, soul and funk.
For his set at Nuits Sonores 2018, English artist Richard Foe has been invited to join Dj P in this sonic wonderland. A mouth-watering prospect if ever there was one!
